review 2: This one kept waking me up all night. Since the begining Lovecraft tell us what´s gonna happen, but the development is amazi
... moreng. Maybe he uses too many embelesing word to describe his scenarios, but hey, it works, by the last chapter I was horrified: What/who was the thing on the doorstep? And the poor guy who married a twisted woman which only desire was his body (and not in a good way). I read a brief biography of the author and it seems like Edward was himself: lonely, overprotective parents, in a big house with a lot of books. When I read it, I rated 4 stars, but now I changed it to 5, because I´m still terrified of the freaking thing on the doorstep. So much that I havent been able to pick up another Lovecraft book. less

Talk about an evil wife!! This story is enough to scare any man into not marrying.
