review 1: Very graphic, gory novel which is actually a collection of vignettes following various people who've unwillingly become zombies. Someone grabbed them - a lover, a trusted friend, a co-worker, and turned them. I liked the insight into what zombies think, how angry they are at what happened to ruin their lives, and their inability to move or communicate with people no matter how hard they try. Their self-loathing was well described.
review 2: It was an excellent idea and I really enjoyed the writing and the first few chapters. But after that it just felt like more of the same stuff, but with different characters. The book felt like it was too long, and it was actually quite short - I think it would have worked better as a short story than a full novel. I did l
... moreike a few of the last sections and felt like the middle needed more of that - the viewer seeing the progress in the zombie apocalypse. There were small pieces of that throughout, but not enough, and without that the individual zombie stories got a bit repetitive. less
