review 1: 3.5 stars......Rules of NegotiationIrma ScottThis ARC was given by Entangled Publishing, LLC via Netgalley in exchange for an honest reviewThese were one of those books I read before it was published and they changed the cover. I realized after the first page I had read this book before. Luckily, it was a quick good read. Tori is a very independent woman who learned at a young age that women need to be successful and never rely on men. She remembers how much her mother was ruined when her father left her and never came back. Tori swore to herself she would make her own happiness by becoming a partner in her law firm. Sadly she is alone because her mother is dying of Alzheimer's and she is married to her job. She begins to doubt her reasons for a few minutes when she meets... more Brit. However, she can't let her mom's advice and pain go.Brit is tired of seeing his sister dwindle into nothing after her messy breakup with her boyfriend. He know she will get better if she continues her lab work. However the owner of the company that she wants to work at is very difficult to contact. He then manipulates their lawyer into doing business with his multi-million dollar company so he can obtain the owner's contact information. After taking her to dinner, he realizes she is intelligent, beautiful, and has no problem standing up to him. She also says, "no" a lot. He is not use to hearing a woman tell him no. After spending time with her, he realizes he really likes her. He is not sure if he should continue seeing her and put his sister's needs to the side. Will the truth come out and break any chances he has with Tori?? Can Tori stop living through her mother's broken heart and learn to trust another man??

Was looking for a short read and found this book. I have read previous books for this author and like her books.Didn't realize til towards the end that Melissa and Solan are from the first book I read for her.I remember the story line but forgot the small details.Mostly liking going to reread the book.Anyways I like this book for multiple reasons.1. Strong woman lead character. Of course she has her weakness but who doesn't2. Strong male lead character : He is rich and successful and family guy. All of these things without being totally alpha male. He knows how to deal with Tori personally and loves her for it.3. Like that when they fall for each other it is so much as I will go literally crazy if I am not with you. It leading more towards realistic and crazy.4. Storyline is sweet.5. and all details in-between.

What was this fuckery? There really was no plot to this. It was just sex. I mean, the main characters kissed in the second-third chapter. They had sex by the fourth-fifth chapter. And then many more times after that, despite her having "trust issues" and being a "work-aholic." Oh, but Tori has time to have sex in the office...in SOMEONE ELSES office, no less. Her mother dies, and she goes to Brit, and he proposes. Like, the fuck? That's all that really happened. There was no substance, everything just seemed unnecessary and pointless.I think the only reason people would have rated this story, was because Brit was a possessive, "hunk" and a player, and because most people in this world are sex-crazed idiots. I'm glad I didn't buy this book, because I would have cried for wasting my money. Trees died for this crap!
