review 1: "Gangstress" is ALL Bout that getting money type life! Bout that Bonnie & Clyde type life! That ride & die chick type life! All to live a hood fabulous type life!This is my first India read and most definitely not my last. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed this short story from beginning to end. I felt like the author did an awesome job covering lots of ground without the story seeming rushed. See her father was a hustler and her mother was an hustler's wife who was done ... morefor the ride. Unfortunately, it was time for her father and mother to show both their gangster, and it didn't end well. After the death of her parents, Janelle went to live with her grandmother; which her stay wasn't anything of pleasantry. Fed up Janelle leaves the home and returns back to her old neighborhood where she hooks up with Ace her god brother. Ace immediately takes her in, and their relationship takes off. Soon, Janelle finds herself in a similar situation as her mother...It's time to let her gangster be known...but will she still be alive after it is all said and done?!!!!***I can't wait to start pt. 2. I am ready for those unanswered questions to be answered lol*** less
