review 1: "Child of Grace" by Irene Hannon is a great example of preservation and God's grace. I would like to warn that this book deals with the aftermath of an attack on Kelsey, but no where is the attack described in any great detail. This is a good, clean book for any adult and mature teenager.Kelsey Anderson had a tragic event happen to her, and she has carrying the result of that event around since it happened. She must make a choice but unable to decide until she has no choice. Kelsey has to be one if the strongest heroines I have read in sometime. She choose the rougher of two paths at the beginning and then later again she chooses the rougher path. I don't know many people who would have faith to do what she did.Luke Turner is a retiring Army doctor who is on one fina... morel mission to honor a fallen brother. His only plans are for some solitude and to get a start on his mission, but Kelsey threw some kinks into those plans. Luke is a man of honor and with that is honest about all of his feelings. When he learns the truth he isn't sure he can get past some of the facts regardless how he feels about Kelsey.I found the story behind Luke's mission to be such an honorable one and hoped that it would succeed if for nothing else but for closure for him. The story behind Kelsey broke my heart but found strength in her strength. Above all the grace that was shown to both of them through God was wondrous. Each of the characters were written in such a realistic way. Even as things came out the characters reacted as most people would. The backgrounds were well developed and nicely laid out to the reader knows what happened without a bunch of unnecessary details that could bog down a story. Personally I enjoyed how the characters carried on with their work, talked about their work even if we don't always see them working. A truly enjoyable book that had some great statements in it.
review 2: War-weary Army medic Luke Turner comes to a Minnesota lake to relax and decompress...only to find his solitude disrupted by pregnant single mother Kelsey Anderson. Luke develops a sympathy for the young mother's plight....but the reasons behind her pregnancy are not at all what you might expect.Kelsey is a victim of rape - and has courageously decided to carry her baby rather than have an abortion. Her faith and outlook on life inspire Luke.....but will Kelsey be willing to follow him to Georgia where his new job as director of an E.R. awaits? And can Luke accept baby Grace...knowing the circumstances of her conception?A wonderful story about two current issues (abortion and post-traumatic stress disorder) and the Christian viewpoint in dealing with both. less
