review 1: I think the particular thing that annoyed me into putting this book down was the anti-rental attitude (city-dweller without a fortune, no, I'm not buying a home), but I'd like to think I'd've kept reading if I'd expected other redeeming features. (My general sense of this author is that she's a little more invested in traditional gender roles and gender essentialism than I prefer. Although this is fairly common in romance, and I'll put up with it in borrowed books, it doesn't always take a lot on top of that to get me to switch reading material. Also, I tend to prefer novels to novellas.)

I love her courage, her gift of life, her contagious laughter that makes everyone at ease. She is the type of person everyone wants to be around. She is also the reason this book is so awesome. You won't want to put this one down. 5 stars. less
