review 1: Very good. I was anticipating this one as we'd been teased with Carter and Molly's history throughout the first 2 books. It was a pleasant read, a bit predictable and although I loved Carter, Molly took a tad long to get over it! But still enjoyable. Looking forward to Chelsea and Bash...or maybe the mysterious new comer to Carter's shop. Keep writing Jaci.. And I'll keep buying and reading. Btw... As much as I love and toggle between books and audiobooks.. I love reading your books.. So thank you!
review 2: Hope Burns is the third book in the Hope series by Jaci Burton. Readers finally learn the story of Molly and Carter. Molly left Hope 12 years ago and has never returned. She claims she loves to travel and move from job to job and that is why she won't co
... moreme home. Carter came home to Hope after college and has created a successful business and happy life.I gave the book 3 stars because it is a very quick read. However, I was very disappointed in Molly's story and I left the story feeling like I knew nothing of substance about Carter. In the end, I feel like this book could have been a novella. I ended the book and felt nothing which broke my heart because I really enjoyed the first two books.SPOILERS...So, Molly's reason for running from Carter 12 years earlier probably made a lot of sense for a 17 year old. Which is what she was when she ran. And Carter's reaction 12 years ago when he found out Molly was pregnant and then had a miscarriage was probably the reaction an 18 year old would have! However, while Carter MATURED and built a life, Molly just wallowed in her own juices. Now, I have known people like that in my life but when I am reading about them I want more. For instance, maybe Molly could have gotten hurt by men during her 12 year journey. These hurts could be what made her so afraid of settling down and calling some place home. Or, maybe she couldn't let go of the pain and once she is home she seeks counseling to let go of her perceived hurt. Instead, she runs again and then just decides to return because she misses Carter. I just didn't love it.END OF SPOILERS...I do plan to read the next book in the series. I would only recommend this book to someone who is already reading the series.Quotes:Her running days were over and so was avoidance. At least temporarily. She had to stop thinking of him as the boy who'd broken her heart all those years ago. It was time to grow up and get past it, at least for now. page 71purchased copy from Amazon less
