review 1: What do I think? I don't know WHAT to think! Some of the short stories leave you cringing and speechless! I don't know WHERE Jack Kilborn/JA Konrath gets his ideas from......... I can't get enough of his books! I already have 4 more of his books (both writing as JA Konrath, and Jack Kilborn)downloaded on my Kindle...the hard part is picking ONE of them to read next! I LOVE short stories...and some of the stories in this collection took me 5 minutes to read - start to finish! And I am a slow reader! Once you get into his stories, it is extremely difficult to put them down. I actually ONLY put them down, because I have to return to work. (I do the majority of my reading while on break at work!). Highly recommend this book if you enjoy unbelievable HO... moreRROR.
review 2: Great book of short stories. Each was a neat read, either full of gory horror, scares, humor, or all three. When I read a short story collection, invariably I'll skip at least a couple of stories that simply don't grab me right from the beginning, but I didn't do that with this book. I also enjoyed the short explanation of each story, either the publishing history or the reasons behind the story. Many of the stories were also on the shorter side, flash fiction or not much more than that, meaning they were quick and satisfying reads. If you're a fan of horror, I highly recommend this one! less
