review 1: Too many details on small things that didn't matter. It's great to know about the setting, but not paragraph after paragraph of details about it. I found this book very dull, however, I try to always finish what I start. It honestly got decent toward the end when everything revealed itself, but I had a hunch about "who done it". I had a hard time picturing Gage (the main character) out doing what he was doing. He seemed very old to me, but I don't think the author intended him to be older than 40. ??? All and all, if you're looking for a book that will put you to sleep easily at bedtime, read this one.

He likes being reclusive. No one gets hurt that way.However, he finds the body of a young woman washed up on the shore one morning, and decides she needs someone who cares enough to find out who she was and just what happened. After the cops question him, he volunteers to try to solve the mystery of this kid.And in doing so, he feels the walls he's built begin to crack...he begins to feel alive again. He wants to live, to care for other people and let them in to care about him.Peppered with well drawn characters, Carter has the beginnings of a wonderful series here that is well worth seeking out. less
