review 1: This book has super perfect characters (which can turn some people off), but I loved them and found their story captivating. Some reviews said it was unrealistic and more of a fairy tale, but most romantic fiction is...yet that's why I LOVE it. After the horrible life Kit Star has lived before the story starts, I felt she deserved to have a few fairy tale breaks (and it was fun to see her hit everything on her bucket list within a year. Gives me something to shoot for.) I loved Rossen Rockland's character. He's almost too good, yet that's what made him perfect for Kit. This book made me want to exclaim like the old Calgon commercial "Take me Away!" And the story did.
review 2: Note to self: I REALLY like these books by Jaclyn M. Hawkes but I need to read other... more books in between each one, or let time pass between reading each one, instead of reading them pretty much back-to-back. There are a lot of commonalities in these books. That doesn't make them bad. It just means I need to let time pass between each book so I re-enjoy the commonalities.That blanket statement aside, I felt this book was almost two books in one: the story of Kit's romance or, really, prelude to romance with Rasson and the what-ever-it-was with Nick. I would rate this 3.5. less
