review 1: A no-frills, action-packed book, this novel is great for teenagers interested in historical fiction. However, I found it laconic. It is a distasteful attempt on a 2nd novel after reading "The First Apostle" also by James Becker. The characters lacked substance and the conversations between characters felt as if whoever was speaking was speaking to a wall. Considering that I found "The First Apostle" somewhat intriguing, The Moses Stone is a poor reflection of it's predecessor. Extremely disappointing book. Hope that whatever is next in the series would be more engaging.
