review 1: Darth Plagueis us one of the few things that could enhance the entirety of the Star Wars prequel. it follows the ascension of the Sith mastermind, Darth Plagueis and his apprentice, Darth Sidious. There is some great action in this book, but it's sparce. instead, this book focuses on the mastery and manipulation of the duo of Plagueis and Sidious. I honestly can't say I've ever been more captivated than I was watching how two men completely manipulates and eventually controlled the entirety of galactic society from the shadows through political, financial and diplomatic means as opposed to the typical fear and intimidation common in Star Wars stories and media as a whole. It's the most intriguing thing I've read so far.
review 2: If you're the kind of Star Wars
... more fan who enjoys reading because of the action, Darth Plagueis may not be the book you would appreciate. This book is more about politics and rise to power of Palpatine and the back story of his mentor Darth Plagueis the Wise. Albeit portraying Palpatine's life as a young boy, James Luceno was able to uphold Palpatine's menacing, spine-tingling demeanor we all know him for today. less
