review 1: This book reminded me of a David Morrell type of action thriller with a virus thrown in for good measure. I really enjoyed the cave diving aspects of the book. I thought the main characters of the book were strong, and I love that they were women. The only part of this book that I didn't like was that I felt the wrap up event happened too quickly and there were a few too many close calls that I don't feel would have happened, if more time had been taken with it. I felt the ending was rushed a bit. But I really enjoyed the read and it was entertaining.
review 2: Considering that I had read so many positive reviews of The Deep Zone, I was surprised at how terrible I thought it was. It was incredibly predictable and there were a number of characters introduced tha
... moret blended together into stereotypical blobs The writing was also immature and a number of cliches appeared in each paragraph. "She was so beautiful, he couldn't look at her long--like staring into the sun." Bleh. The disease aspect was interesting, but this book is not for someone who is used to reading quality suspense like James Rollins or Steve Berry. less
