review 1: This was a fun read. Miles is British and has a best friend that is a girl named Clare. Miles is trying to make it as an actor. He flies to LA and gets his big break as leading man (actually an angel) in this film that was a popular book first. He struggles with being lonely and being homesick, and flies Clare out there to LA while he films. Of course the reader is aware that Clare has this massive crush on her friend Miles. She observes his new body (from eating healthy and working out) and begins to crush big time on him. However, Miles has fallen for leading lady Lilia, who isn't only a size 0 and gorgeous, but she is very famous - having been a child star and continuing her success as a young adult actress. There are a few obstacles that Miles must overcome - changing... more himself into the Hollywood persona is just one. Plus doing what the "suits" needed him to do for image. Clare doesn't like him changing, but she supports him and his career choice. She doesn't like Lilia, however. This story was a feel good read. There was a little bit of angst, some drama and a huge heap of snarky comments (from Clare) that had me giggling. I truly loved both Clare and Miles. Clare was funny and honest, Miles was a complete sweetheart. I enjoyed the writing - the dialogue just flowed. i also enjoyed the dual POVs from both Miles and Clare. Truly enjoyed this read. 3.5 Stars!
review 2: Well after reading Dazzled, looks like this author can write emotional heartache and humor. What a switch in genres that exploits her writing flexibility! This book is not what I anticipated at all, i expected the emotional punch in the heart not the constant smirk and chuckle that this romantic comedy afforded me. This book is light and refreshing and a joy to read. Although there was funny bits throughout, this read is not without character development and depth. Both characters are flawed in their own eyes, but perfect together as friends. It took me a while to get in sync with this book, but i really enjoyed it and appreciated the change to the lighter side. What a versatile author, she has my attention, no matter what she writes! Dazzle was a delight! less
