review 1: Too Shory, but very good.Rupert, Lord Morton was devastatingly handsome. He cared deeply for his sister, but he did not care for her friend Meredith. He felt like she was just clinging to his sister because she was disliked amongst the ton. The ton who shunned her.Meredith, ever since she met Lord Morton she had fallen in love with him, but he only looked at her with disgust. Her father now had a marriage agreement for her with his business partner. Destiny would give Meredith an open opportunity. Would she seize it? Could she? This was a free book for me and I wad pleasantly surprised. This was very short and I wish it would have been much longer. It was wonderful and the passionate scenes were intense. I also would have been happy with an Epilogue. This author has done a ... morewonderful job with this series. I look forward to more of her books. I highly recommend this book and all of the books in the series prior to this one.
review 2: Hmmm, I found both the main characters totally unlovable and their attraction to each other unfathomable.Meredith is a wealthy, stunningly beautiful young woman unfortunate to have been born the daughter of a merchant rather than the nobility. For some inexplicable reason she is in love with her best friend's brother (the Earl of Morton) even though he displays shockingly bad manners and is uniformly rude to her.For some reason her father is desperate to marry her and in desperation she takes advantage of a situation and Morton is forced to marry her.Morton is extremely rude to Meredith before, during and after the wedding - even forcing her father to take her to the reception! But apparently that is no deterrent to wanting to have his conjugal rights, and apparently all a man needs to fall in love is sex. And a woman is stupid enough to want and enjoy having sex with a man who humiliated her at her own wedding! There was a plot involving Meredith's father and his business partner which seemed superfluous. less

I don’t know why you’d want to, frankly, in this story of unlovely people.
