review 1: Thank you to Fiction Addiction Book Tours for letting me take part in the blog tour.I really like Jason. Hes genuinely a really nice guy. Hes been brought up well. His parents taught him wrong from right. they tought him to be kind and to help those in need. I am really glad he decided to go to New York even though his family didnt want him to and its not exactly how he pictured it.I didnt really like Lindy. She wanted to make Jason into the image she had in her head. Everything in their relationship was about her. they were two people Jason was just an extension of her but not in a good way. She manipulated him and everyone else.Rachel, oh Rachel. Where do I start. I felt so so sorry for her. She had such a crappy childhood. He... morer mum was pretty rubbish and since she left home she never really found a good place. She was always in with the wrong crowd.I really loved that the book switched point of views. It was great to get into each of their heads and see what they were really thinking and feeling.I dont want to ruin the story but there were some lovely romantic scenes, some hilarious and outrageous scenes, some really heartfelt moments and some really sad times too. This book will have you going through every emotion and Im so glad I was along for the ride. I had little happy tears in my eyes at the end. It was perfect.
review 2: Ok So I read these books out of order - but I was anxious to read about Jason and Rachel - I think by reading them out of order clouded my judgment a little with Jason and Rachel, so I'm sorry for the negitivity with this review - This was a good story - just didn't quit have it all in there . Jason packed up his life and left his girlfriend of years to move to New York to make something of himself. Though he and Lindy were still together, they had that lacking spark between them.. The book starts off with Jason running across the bridge, and he spots a woman there getting ready to jump. Like any decent human being, he stops her. But she has nowhere to go, no money, nothing - so he offers his place in order to help her. Jason doesn't believe in secrets, and he openly lets his family and girlfriend know what he's doing. Back home everyone is panicking about how crazy he's being by letting a stranger live in his tiny one room apartment. Thinking she's only out to take his money and take advantage of his hospitality. But Jason see's Rachel differently, and no matter what anyone says about her, he knows what he feels - Rachel's luck couldn't have been better when Jason found her. She was at an all-time low, but since his faith in her showed her that she could be more than she thought of herself. Before Jason, she didn't care about what others thought of her, or did to her. But Jason made her see herself in a different light.. she mattered. Rachel showed Jason that there was more to life than working for a job you didn't like. You were allowed to have fun, too. And Jason needed that. His relationship with his girlfriend was dull and everything they did was because she wanted to. He started to see his relationship differently, and knew deep in his gut that things with Lindy was not the love he thought they had. This is the part I didn't like - Jason decided to get on with his life and make himself happy. Yes that's ok to do - and I'm happy he did, but the way he treated his girlfriend was just a little too harsh. He did try to make things right before he and Rachel got serious, but he flaunted Rachel in everyone's face and told them all to deal with it.But it all makes sense in the 3rd book - I just didn't really like the way this one played out. I'm happy for Jason and Rachel. He is a good guy and cares deeply, but I just think he made a few bad decisions - Rachel is a sweet lady - just had a lot of bad luck. But she's trying hard to make something of herself. and she goes along with Jason's decisions... less
