review 1: This is the first book I’d read by this author and loved the sharp wit and sparkling dialogue running throughout the story. Holly is a cynic where men are concerned and only goes to a women’s group whose leader is dabbling in magic to keep her friend out of trouble. But trouble finds them anyway. While she’s dealing with armed men and atrocious weather Holly meets Kai, a sexy, intelligent, world-weary Welsh journalist who is trying to unravel the secrets of his past. Their relationship is anything but easy path and is seamlessly woven into the story of the other women in the group who are all seeking their own forms of happiness. If you want a laugh out loud read with a deep layer of true emotion you’ll love this book.
review 2: Jane Lovering is an auth... moreor who manages to blend humorous story telling with some very serious issues, and at the same time deliver a very satisfying romance. This was another great read from her, which I literally couldn’t put down. I felt for the heroine, whose life has been more or less put on hold as she tries to care for a brother who is not like other people, and I fell in love with the hero, despite his less than perfect past. The cast of secondary characters was wonderful too and I can’t wait for the author’s next book! less
