review 1: A Summer in New York-Job Hazards, by Janette RallisonLydia Robinson is a policewomen and on a sting operation undercover. But her cover was a bit of a shocker and not what she was expecting. Anyways she does the job and while working undercover as a hooker her old boyfriend, Harrison from high school pulls up and boy do things get interesting!! One of my favorite parts is when Harrison takes Lydia to dinner and when the waiter asks if they want dessert she say no that she needs to be able to fit in her hooker clothes. I loved it. But, will misunderstandings from the past keep Harrison and Lydia apart? Read it to find out! A fun, flirty and memorable sweet romance.Just FYI- This story has no swearing or sex in it.A Taste of Sun, by Heather B. She is to interview with Dr. Darius Jackson and he shuts her down at first sight. We learn that since his divorce and having his two kids during the summer a younger nanny the summer before kept flirting. He just was not going to do that again. But, when he finds that Marisol is the only nanny available with special needs experience he changes his mind. Marisol is delighted but is receiving a lot of pressure from her mom in Chile to date and not be someone else’s servant. I can see how a Latin parent would feel that way, me having lived in Chile and Panama. The boys Reese and Seth have settle in with Marisol and she is doing a wonderful job. I love when Dr. Jackson confronts her about her schooling and she goes off on him about her family and how they lived in Lo Barnechea. ( I lived in Lo Barnechea when I lived in Santiago) So, will a friendship be all that Dr. Jackson and Marisol share? Read it to find out. Such a witty, fun and delightful read.Just FYI – No swearing or sex in this book!Take a Chance, by Sarah M. EdenMiguel is stuck in the airport and so is Jane the girl he wanted to marry. review 2: Delightfully entertaining!!!!! I love these anthologies! They give me just enough of each story. My favorite was Janette Rallison's "Job Hazzards." I think I needed a good laugh. It was hilarious! I was completely hooked. Each story gives us a different perspective of The City and the lives of those living in it. Now that I have enjoyed these stories I think I am ready to jump into another novel. This was a terrific breather! less
