review 1: So I decided to read this in between the other book I'm reading now because these go pretty quick. After the ending of the last one I was hoping for a really gripping continuation but this has been for me the weakest of the three so far that I've read. The suspense didn't hold up that much and though it did have its moments, the first two were better. I still have I think seven more volumes to go until I finish the series so maybe this bump in the road won't be too bad.

... morearon is so hellbent on shocking me with sex and violence that I can't read this anymore without rolling my eyes. Every character is a murderer, rapist, torturer, or worse. This "Dead Mothers" storyline features an interrogation where the suspect gets his eye pulled out with pliers. Look, I know what you're saying: "Awesome." And that description does indeed sound badass and cool, but when every scene, every moment of character interaction is drenched in this sadistic, humorless badassitude, it starts to lose its effect after a while." less

Great series so far! Dark, gritty and twisted! Absolutely worth continuing. Vertigo rocks!
