review 1: First in the side trilogy featuring Vlad, spun off from the Night Huntress series. Jeaniene Frost has created an really interesting character in Vlad Tepesh, with nice further insight revealed. Great character development as well with Leila. Lots of action, clever plot, and some smoking (hah) hot sex scenes. You could maybe read this as a stand alone, but why would you want to? Best to start from the start of this fab para-romance series to get the full background.
review 2: I read this book before any of the Night Huntress Novels and thought "ok, yea I like this. A little far fetched and she is a little annoying, but yea I like." Then I read the second one and I can't explain why but I had to come back and reread this one. BAM! Love! She still annoys me, but I... more am in love with Vlad! Then I read the Night Huntress Novels . . . and I could not believe it but . . . My love grew! I read this for him. She is slowly growing on me, but he has captured me and I refuse to behave. Please allow me to stay in your dungeon! less
