review 1: Basic Plot: Cat is on the trail of a witch-hunting ghost before the clock ticks down to Halloween and another set of innocent women are murdered.This was a considerably more satisfying story than some of the previous Night Huntress books have been. There was an actual sense of urgency and danger at some points. That, in itself, was a massive improvement. The story also hit close to home, being focused on the unreasoning persecution of witches. The ridiculousness of the vitriol flung at pagans both confuses and frightens me. I will never understand why people feel the need to hate what they don't understand, especially to the point of making up lies and justifying murder, rape, and torture. Unfathomable.Cat and Bones's relationship was not at the forefront of this sto... morery, but Bones was a supportive presence throughout. This was perfectly ok with me, as I prefer actual conflict to contrived relationship issues. It was nice to see the quiet support and teamwork of the pair just kind of work. It was also nice to see Cat struggling to actually have an impact on the villain of the story. As a ghost, he wasn't exactly killable. With her powers from Marie Laveau fading, she didn't have as much mojo as before, either. She had to plan and think as well as react and punch.Overall, I was happy with the book and look forward to finishing the series. I don't think it's the ultimate awesome that some others seem to think, but nor is it the worst, and it can be enjoyable, even with its flaws.
review 2: I didn't like this book very much, it was all about Cat and Bones with a new one caracter Tyler, ok so Tyler made it a little bit good with humou but still there is this luck of the hole gang that we are used to to make the team complete and the mission accomplished.This book is about the ghosts that i get it but still it could've been mixet with something else some other events because i found myself a little bit bored to read automatic actions like this will lead to this if we do this it'll lead to this and so on. less
