review 1: this is all i have ever wanted to see written about mental illness and suicide wrapped up in one beautiful book. so many things sang to me and held my hand. I have read enough books about my particular flavor of mental illness that make me angry or sad because they never captured me. This book is not about my flavor, but it catches so many facets of mine that i FINALLY see myself in a book. and it feels like a giant healing balm. with crying. but good. really good.
review 2: I'm so pleased Jennifer Niven has moved into YA writing - teens are going to love this book! Because it deals with death, mental health and suicide in a major way, I wouldn't recommend this to junior readers (in fact, I'm going to get our guidance counsellor's opinion on this before I let
... moreit loose in our library). But it is so moving and really powerful, with characters who have depth. And the writing style is perfect for fans of John Green and Rainbow Rowell, as the cover endorsements suggest. I definitely recommend this one! less

Could not put this book down - gut wrenching, but so, so important. Excellent book!
