Velva Jean
review 1: Very interesting story which made me want to look up what role the WASPS did during WW II. Velma Jean is sent to Europe, she is flying a b17 across the ocean to England, there she is only dot stay shortly and then fly back as a passenger but her real mission is to find her brother who has not been in touch since beginning of 1944. She is determind to find him and discovers what it takes to be really part of the war. It seemed these women had to fight two wars; the one that was going on all over the world and the war against those who did not believe that women could do what men had done so long, they went so far to sabotage there own side!
review 2: It's. just. So. Good! I am such a fan of Jennifer Niven's writing style. I have never been so intrigued by a char
... moreacter, but there is something about Velva Jean Hart. Living in Okinawa, Japan I have become fascinated by WWII and appreciate a great novel that incorporates that time period. For those of you that may not like stories set in a time of war, don't turn away from this incredible novel. I would start with "Velva Jean Learns to Drive" and let yourself get lost in a great book. You will HAVE to know what happens to Velva Jean and keep going. This series is my number 1 recommendation to all my friends. less
