review 1: I'm on page 235 of the large print edition. So far... story is pretty good. Problem is with the obvious mistakes. (1) The group is studying Ephesians. So why did Cooper let the salesperson in Lifeway sell her a study guide to Ecclesiastes? If it was wrong she would have taken it back. (2) It's a Saturday. Why is the grandmother watching Ellen DeGeneres? If it was a taped show, then say so. Otherwise don't mess with a M-F TV show by putting it on Sat.Things like that bug me to the point that the rest of the book is suspect. It doesn't take much editing to catch these things. What else is wrong?I'll continue when I'm finished.Finished the book and the only other glaring detail was taking chicken and dumpling into the hospital and yet saying that the Fried chicken smell ... morewas driving one of the characters crazy. And no doctor in their right mind would talk to strangers the way the doctor did explaining the use of morphine. It was ok. Having lived in Richmond, it was nice to read about the city. I would try another of the author's books and hopefully they have been edited better. And yes I know there are editors and proof readers. But their names aren't on the cover, so any poor editing still comes back to the name on the front.
review 2: This is a brand new series by an author that I am unfamiliar with. Cooper Lee is a woman in her 30's whose learning to live without the boyfriend/significant other of 5 years again. She's starting to find out who Cooper Lee is and in the process of doing her job, found a possible new friend - a woman who saw Cooper Lee and invited her to her church. Cooper Lee decides to attend Brooke's church and during the Sunday School class another member comes in with the bad news that Brooke has been murdered. The man accussed of killing Brooke is her husband of 30 years. Cooper Lee realizes that the woman she met could not have been killed by her husband and then realizes that she saw something that might have led to Brooke's murder. The Sunday School class has already decided to try to find the truth when the police just seems to be focused on the husband and this is where the story really takes off. I suggest a nice pot of tea to go with the book - Enjoy. less

A little drawn out but a quick read so that made up for it.
