review 1: As the series comes to a head, it continues to entertain, but I continue to feel that so many of these books are coming to an indefinite end. This one in particular ends on a note that feels particularly incomplete. Perhaps the intent was to simply prepare the reader for the denouemont of the 8th and final book. But more than any other of the Charlie Bone series, there's a clear "To be continued..." which should have been hovering on the last page.
review 2: Charlie Bone and the Shadow is the most amazing book ever by Jenny Nimmo! Its about a mysterious painting that Charlie Bone, an endowed boy,aka Children of the Red King. He can go into pictures and paintings and talk to the people in them. But this painting is different, everybody can go into it. Charlie... more, and his best friends dog named Runner Bean, get trapped into the painting.Charlie gets out but Runner doesn't, so Charlie's best friend wont talk to him. So Billy, Charlie's other friend, tries to save Runner,but he gets trapped and Runner gets out. Get the book and find out if Billy gets out. less
