review 1: The Cursed Pirate Girl is on a mission to find the pirate father she has never met. On this mission through the roughest pirate seas, the Omerta Seas, Cursed Pirate Girl encounters two of the five pirate ships that may or may not have her father as a captain. I thought the illustrations in this graphic novel were amazing. They were very reminiscent of the illustrations from the original Alice In Wonderland. The story of The Cursed Pirate Girl was also very engaging and funny. I think young adults and adults alike would enjoy this graphic novel. I am looking forward to subsequent volumes.
review 2: There are lots of graphic novels, comics, etc. out there that have common themes, illustrations styles or stories and hey, I'm not against that! I prefer to tak... moree the optimistic view that inspiration is a good thing (when not flat out ripped off). This is not one of those books.The CPG world is rich and seemingly tells you upon entrance that you will definitely be back again. You could not possible absorb every detail in one read! I loved this strange and lovely tail packed to the gills with fine detail crowding every single page. Cursed Pirate Girl is the daughter of one of the Pirates of Omerta, though she does not know which one. Rather than mope around about her doomed existence, she revels in her cursed-ness and pursues her father with unwavering confidence that she will become the pirate she knows she is destined to be. Cannot wait for the next book! less
