Title: Close Enough to Touch

Rating: ★★★★

Summary: Jubilee has a rare allergy to humans. She has been living a reclusive life ever since her mother moved in with her new husband 9 years ago. Now Jubilee finds herself in a situation that requires her to get a job and re-engage with society, but it’s not easy, especially as she finds that people want to connect with her.

Why I Am Recommending: Is this great literature? No. Is this an entertaining read? Absolutely! I liked this book way more than I was anticipating, especially while I was reading the first quarter of the book. Once I got beyond that point, I was engrossed fully into the story of the fragile Jubilee. This was one of those reading-late-into-the-night kind of reads. I had to know what happened and how the story would end. It was a slow burning, swoony read full of romantic tension, exacerbated by her inability to make physical contact with other humans. I loved her romantic interest Eric and all of his flaws and mistakes. He was patient and forgiving of Jubilee’s shortcomings and helped her to become stronger. In fact, this book was full of great characters, all of whom had their quirks, especially the individuals at the library. There were great book references throughout, which is always a plus in my book. This was a very enjoyable read and perfect for someone looking for a heartwarming story.

P.S. How great is that cover?
