review 1: Read this based on the recommendation of Tess, one of my new fourth graders. The first in the Goddess Girls series. Really adorable premise about a school for young gods and goddesses on Mount Olympus. A lot of mythologically accurate Greek mythology mixed in with regular kid stuff (making friends, finding balance, annoying parents, etc.). Already went ahead and purchased three books from this series for my classroom!
review 2: I felt for the cover artwork. It started bad and I tried to imagine that I was 9 years old -as it was the age when I was very fond of Greek mythology with The Odyssey already read- to be able to continue reading, but my favorite goddess Athena as a cheerleader... no way! Poseidon as a teenager while Zeus is the old principal of the h... moreigh school is a silly anachronism and it goes on all over the book with the most unexpected characters as teenagers and others as teachers. less
