review 1: This is the 14th book in the Chocoholic Mystery series and I have to say that I find these fairly formulaic. I usually know who the murderer is fairly early and you know what? I don't mind that in the least. I love the town setting and the characters feel like old friends. The writing itself just feels very comfortable and friendly to me that I will continue to read as many books as JoAnna Carl wants to write.
review 2: When I picked this book up at the library, I didn't realize that there were about 15 books that came before it in the series. I went ahead an read it anyway and found it to be enjoyable. There were a few parts that made me laugh out loud (I think I scared my dog when I did that.) I liked the "chocolate trivia" that was scattered through the book... more. I would have liked some chocolate recipes, (but then I am spoiled by the other series I read). I think that people who enjoy cozies would have fun with this book. People who don't like clowns, maybe not so much. less
