review 1: I love a good zombie book, and McKinney's books are good. They're not the amazing I want to read it over right now kind of book, but they're an enjoyable read and something I'd read again at some point. I think where things suffer for me in this book, and in the other McKinney book I read, is that sometimes character elements feel forced. Other times, plot elements feel forced. Despite its flaws, it's a fun read, and I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys zombie novels.
review 2: I have read Joe McKinney's other books. They are everything you would want in a zombie story. This was entertaining but didn't have a lot of the edge of your seat scares his other ones do. Granted, his other books are usually told from a post apocalyptic view. This one was set on cruise
... more ship. The bacteria causing people to turn into zombies smuggled, and placed in the food by a Mexican cartel. They are trying to get back at a senator. There is a haunted young woman working for the cartel (Pilar aka Monica), an operative named Juan, and Tess who works for Juan and is undercover on the cruise to protect the senator. Good story, good story line. But not McKinney's usual work. less

Enjoyed. Didn't like the ending. There was such a buildup, then such an abrupt ending.
