review 1: I've read nutritional books, magazines, blogs, etc. for years and I don't regret anything I've read (except Atkins diet)because all of the information simply helped me take steps in a healthier and more informed direction. Having said that, this is the first book that I have no doubt will help me the rest of my life. Dr. Fuhrman's advice is easy to understand and is not gimmicky. It just plain makes sense. The information he presents is science backed and references are provided. The only reason I did not give this book a five is because I would have liked more recipes. I would recommend to anyone looking for lasting change in their health.

... moreople are almost ideological in their support of things like the Mediterranean Diet, Paleo Diet, Atkins Diet, etc.This particular approach is appealing to me because it is well-researched, based on peer-reviewed studies and meta-studies, and most of all, it appeals to my long-time vegetarianism.The author is an MD who is a researcher into nutrition and relies on studies, rather than logic, to make his point. I like an empirical approach.I admit to floundering around with my diet lately, to no good outcome, but since I began to change to come closer to the Super Immunity approach (natural grains, fruit, salads, raw nuts, low doses of animal products), I have been feeling much better and have lost some weight. The idea that nuts, berries, and raw vegetables are storehouses of immune-supporting nutrients is essential to understanding how Super Immunity works.I am enjoying the diet and hope it delivers for me.
