review 1: Exactly as advertised, a down-and-dirty account of a young boy and his trip to bible camp. While it was cleverly written (as we would expect of Mr. Comeau) the most difficult part of the book was how short it was- and that relates directly to the storytelling. The characters didn't have much chance to grow, motives weren't clear, and the action took place in a whirlwind of words! This book needs time to breathe, and thanks to Joey, that is exactly what it will do. Consider this a good idea that is going to be re-written into a great story, and until then, I wait until he publishes his next installment of this book!
review 2: Slight, but morbid, violent, and darkly funny. Probably my favorite novel/novella title ever, though I get the impression that Comeau mayb
... moree thought it up first and then the story after. If the concept appeals to you at all, you will enjoy this, it's just a question of how let down you'll be that there's not more to it. As much as I would love a longer, more fleshed out novel, I think it's short, sweet, and perfectly executed as is. less

I enjoyed most of the book, but I did not like the end. It was really sad.
