review 2: This was my first John Maxwell experience and it was definitely worth it. He describes himself as a motivational teacher from experience and I found that to be true throughout the book. This is more along the lines of say Jack Canfield then Anthony Robbins. Maxwell draws on his experience as a public speaker and pastor to help people connect with their communication. I most definitely plan on using some of the suggestions and will refer back to the book many times. One warning, there's not a whole lot new here other than what you most likely learned as a child-golden rule, first appearance, etc., but the stories he uses to illustrate his points are good and this books serves as a great reminder type of resource. I do recommend it. less
