review 1: As always Maxwell has written another excellent book about personal growth. This one illustrates the fact that we all suffer losses, but not all of us learn from them. And the learning is the key difference between the successful and unsuccessful. Maxwell points out in one chapter that just as a child learning to walk will fall and get hurt (they failed and suffered pain from the failure) they get up and walk again until they are experts at it. This applies to how we as adults should approach failures. If you are working to be more successful than you are now, then this book should be part of your library.
review 2: I have read many of John Maxwell's books and have attended many of his seminars. There is nothing new here content wise, except for the way t... morehe material is arranged. The personal stories while entertaining at times, left me feeling that he is out of touch with the everyday reader. Spending $20,000 to send a passport? Seriously? Even if I could spend that much money to send a passport, I'm not sure I would write about it. The part left out of the story was how much he got for the speaking engagement. If he got $50,000 to speak at the event, dropping $20K was no big deal.I got this book for free in exchange for a review. Normally, I'm one of those readers who has to get Maxwell books from the library or save up to purchase a copy.If a friend was new to Maxwell, this would be a good book to give them. For the seasoned Maxwell reader, this book is going to be strangely familiar. less
