The Ellie Chronicles
review 1: Ellie just wants to return to normal after the war: keep the ranch after her parents' brutal murder and the partitioning of Australia. However, the war seems to keep touching her again and again. Now Gavin has been kidnapped and a terrorist group from across the border is demanding that she turn over herself and the leader of Liberation (the Scarlet Pimpernel or Scarlet Pimple as Ellie and her gang call "him") in exchange for the safe return of Gavin. Liberation helps Ellie with a plan to retrieve Gavin which requires her being placed in the city where he is being kept and trying to find him, as well as gathering any information she can. It's awfully dangerous, but Ellie would do anything to get Gavin back.
review 2: I was really apprehensive about the big
... morefinale of Ellie's journey. I didn't particularly love the first two books but this one by far was the best. Its always the relationships that matter in the end and the bond Gavin, Ellie, Lee, Homer and the Liberation developed was great. I just wish there was more of Fi. Having said that it was a great way, for me, to end the journey and I am getting irrationally emotional about it but its a book series i've come to love so its a bit heart breaking for me to say the Good byes but I'll keep coming back surely because its not a goodbye afterall.... less
