review 1: Meh. Honestly disappointed. I actually *bought* this book when we moved and didn't have internet and the library was closed. Anyway, I was hoping for some solid CAT FACTS but mostly got a lot of redundant rambling about other boring cat stuff I didn't care about. There are 12 chapters. I straight up skipped two of them (ancient cat history) and then skimmed a few because they were just so. boring. The dude is a cat researcher and could have made this far more interesting than he did but it just felt like he was writing and droning on for himself. However I did learn a few interesting cat facts so it wasn't a total loss.
review 2: Overall, a very informative, thoughtful book on cats. Was a bit on the dry side and at times a bit repetitive, but full of knowledge.
... more I do have to say that the Brit side of Dr. Bradshaw and ideas about cats definitely comes through. There were also a couple ideas that he presents as solid fact that I just don't agree with based on years of experience with cats (that unrelated cats can never live together happily and that cats cannot learn tasks from other cats). But if you want a better idea of what is going on in your cat's head, this is a good place to start. less

There were some interesting nuggets, but this was a fairly repetitive, not terribly engaging read.

Interesting but dry and a bit dense.
