review 1: Well, I wanted to like this book, I really did...but I didn't. The thing that bothered me the most about this book was that it took religion and chewed it up and spit it out. I am not Catholic, but it was very apparent that this author grew up Catholic and didn't like it. And though it was subtle, I got a "preachy" vibe from this book, and I hate it when that happens! I do not like it when authors try to get me to be a vegetarian, or tell me that I'm killing the planet by driving my car, or make me feel like a simpleton for believing in God. It's too bad too because the story itself is great.
review 2: Jael is a half breed(half human n half demon) but doesn't know it yet. She and her family(her an her dad) are always moving but ths time they stay longer than us... moreual mostly because this is the first church tht helps them out about the secret in the town. Which I why the person there running away from is close and tht's where he makes his attack on Jael and her close friend. She has a demon uncle to help her inner demon self, or powers since they've just been restored. Her fathr is filled wit secrets but he soon tells her latr. Her boyfriend is always there for her and knows whn somethng is wrong. Her mom is dead but also in her own way,she helps her through her letters and the necklace she gave on Jael's 16th birthday. Jael learns more day by day, which is why she has the power to kick the bad guy's but. I lovd ths book, it gets 5 stars^_^¥_¥ less
