review 1: I picked this book up from the "new" shelf at the library because it was centered around the Brussels World's Fair in 1958...we visited the site when we were over there and I thought it would be fun to learn more about the event. This was a cute book involving Soviet and British spies that were both portrayed in a humorous way, especially the Brits. There were a few laugh out loud parts and some parts that were pretty predictable. Overall, a fun, short read.

... moreley, the English protagonist, is overly self-assured and clueless in the fashion of countless British fictional heroes before him. He is desperately looking toward the future to make his mark on society and find a leg up in the world, while completely clueless about what's going on right now. The story has a bit of a clunky epilogue at the end, but up till then, I felt like I was reading a screenplay starring pre-Office Ricky Gervais. less

Mostly well written, great sense of place, but morally ambiguous and it dipped towards the end.
