review 1: For somebody who has lived in visits Brussels frequently an amusing story, nostalgia of the '50s and also written in the "greyness" of that decade! Relationships lack emotion whether they are between male and female or of the same sex. The ending seems to have been botched together for lack of being able to deal with the aspect of emotions in a more rounded manner. By the time I had reached 10-15 pages from the end, I became bored and waited a week to finish off the book.

I’ve not read anything by Coe before, but I have to say that I will be looking for more. I received an advance reader copy of the book from netgalley.com in exchange for my honest review. less
