review 1: I bought this book not expecting much, except maybe a rip off of World War Z. I got a whole lot more than I planned. I seriously could not put it down! Some people might have a little difficulty following the storylines as the chapters jump from one story to another, but I don't think it is too difficult for most people to follow. In fact I loved that aspect of it, the fact that we got a whole lot of different stories all in one hit.I also loved that they didn't conform to the stereotyped idea of vampires and really branched out to include all types of creatures which could fall under the 'vampire' folklore from various countries. I found this book very enjoyable and inspiring as a 'monster/horror writer' myself.
review 2: V-Wars is a shared-world anthology set
... more in a world that's been transformed by the release from melting ice caps of a virus that transforms some people into vampires. The concept is reminiscent of George R.R. Martin's Wild Cards books, but the execution reminded me more of the old Robert Asprin/Lynn Abbey Thieves' World series. I most enjoyed the sequences written by Yvonne Navarro, Keith R.A DeCandido, and Maberry himself. The Gregory Frost was good, too, and gave a more worldwide feel to the book. The book is printed in the "mosaic" format, meaning that the stories are published in interspersed pieces, which is occasionally confusing. I also found it a little jarring to have a first-person narration mixed in with the others. Altogether, though, it's a very enjoyable volume, and I'm looking forward to reading future books in the series. I also have enjoyed the graphic series of the same title written by Maberry and also published by IDW.) less

It was a good story. It did drag a bit. The multiple authors did make it an interesting.

Wasn't that good. A bunch of loosely connected stories, no centralized plot line. Weak.
