review 1: First of all, don't get this book expecting a children's book filled with fairy tales. It can be read to children, but it is something very unique and special in itself. It is a small book, both in size and story length. In fact, these are more quotes and sayings that will get you thinking rather than stories. I am proud to own this collection of art and stories because when you read it you know it is truly something special. Love it for what it is, not for what you want it to be.
review 2: As a kid who grew up reading Shel Silverstein in her elementary school's library, this third volume of the Tiny Book of Tiny Stories appealed to me. The combination of quirky illustrations and short poems is very akin to Silverstein's style. However, some of the poems felt t... moreoo ambitious to me. Even though I realize this is the third volume and the other two were well received, I just don't buy Gordon-Levitt as a poet. Now here is the part where I say that I am no expert on poetry and that, quite frankly, the idea of analyzing a poem is very unappealing to me. So with that being said, I didn't care for the "poems" in this volume, but I thought the illustrations were cool. less
