review 1: At first, I was a little skeptical of the book's ability to intrigue me. However, after the first couple of chapters I found myself turning page after page. Julia Gregson does a fantastic job of mixing adventure, romance, and suspense all into one. The main female character was the perfect combination of sweet and innocent with confidence and bravery. This book will be enjoyed by all and I encourage others to read it.
review 2: Good...much better than earlier novels by the same author so my interpretation is growth as a writer but still not great. Although I liked both protagonists I found the back characters much more interesting. In many ways they seemed more developed than Saba and Dom. I did not know about the entertainment that was provided during WWII and
... more did appreciate a novel set during this time that was in a different locale other than Europe. It makes sense that there were spies also in Egypt but had just not ever thought about nor read a book set there in this time period. Overall the book just felt very superficial; perhaps that was the impression that the author was trying to put across...during war things become superficial due to the transient nature of the people involved. less

Exactly what it said on the tin! Enjoyable but not exciting enough for more stars!

Really nice book. Only thing is they referred twice to God save the Queen.
