review 1: Ah so beautifully written. The characters were well fleshed out and very likable. I enjoyed the whole thing but at a certain point it seemed as if the Garden was somewhat dropped or made less important than the main characters. I really wanted to see the culmination of all the work on the garden shown off to the public in the book. The ending seemed slightly abrupt compared to the rest of the novel. This hiccup will not keep me from reading more of the author in the future. All in all it was a very beautiful love story and pleasant.Thank you Julie Bozza!
review 2: I will write a better review once I can find some words that will actually mean something. This story, this beautiful love story about Hilary and Tom, is why I read. I melted while reading this.
... more My heart swelled and I felt like I felt like a kid in a candy store-giddy. I had a smile on my face throughout the entire story, sometimes a sad smile, but it was there. I read books straight through. Only stopping when the kiddos need something or when I need to replenish the tissues. I kept stopping while reading this because I wanted to savor the moment. The first time Tom kissed Hilary's cheek, I paused sitting on my couch I leaned back and closed my eyes picturing that moment in my head. This was very vivid in my mind, the entire story was. I loved it. Yes, there's a 42 year old age gap, but to be honest, I didn't really SEE that in the story. Yes, they talked about how "forbidden" their love is, but Tom didn't act like a "normal" 23 year old. He may be young in years, but very wise. This was gearing up to be a 5 star read, but some things happened at the end that I wasn't fond of and it kind of knocked it down a notch :(I will say these 2 drank so much tea, I ran out and bought a tea kettle! No I am not joking, it's a nice one too :) Bright orange, it'll liven up my kitchen for sure. Now, I just have to start drinking tea. Don't judge. less
