review 1: This book contains 11 stories that take place before, during and shortly after the events in The Definitive Albert J. Sterne. The ‘past time’ stories provide deeper look into the characters of Albert, Fletcher and John and they are all very emotional but it was the opening one - about Albert’s parents and their death - that was the most heartbreaking and I found the story about Fletcher the most revealing since I often wondered while reading the first book what made him see the dark side of people. Many questions are answered, I got better understanding as to what made these three characters who they are but I must say I enjoyed the most the ‘future’ stories. And it looks like it is future bright for Albert and Fletcher indeed. There are more than a few precious m... moreoments in the ’future’ stories and I admit I wasn’t aware of how much I needed to see Albert and Fletcher in a better place in their relationship until I read them. The closing scene is so special and beautiful that I found myself re-reading it immediately after I reached the end of the last page.As I hoped, both of them are beginning to change now that the serial killer case in closed - Fletcher is healing and Albert is making an effort to open up. I was pleasantly surprised to read how much Albert had thought of the future, not just any future but one shared with Fletcher. To be honest, I found the conversations with Fletcher’s family members to be unnecessarily oversharing at times. While I understood the purpose, I just thought it was too much. I think everyone who grew fond of the characters in The Definitive Albert J. Sterne will enjoy this book immensely.
review 2: I really enjoyed this companion volume to Albert's first story.Reading about Fletcher and his family was a joy. Peter, Harley, Beth, Frances and Patrick seemed like real people to me and I became fully immersed in their lives. I felt as if I was right there with them. It was hard to put my eReader down! I couldn’t wait to see what happened with Fletcher and Albert (even re-reading the first Albert along with this second book was compelling – compulsive, uncontrollable, irresistible ;-)). I loved Fletcher in this book; it was also a pleasure to see a slightly softer side to Albert, too. I guess the kids (and Frances in particular) managed to get under his skin a little. Poor Harley! My sympathies were with him at times. The sense of humour of the others was catching, though. It would be hard for Harley not to join in eventually. It was hard to let Albert and Fletcher go, so if they ever visit again, I’ll be more than happy to see how they’re going. less

Not quite as heart wrenching as the other book, but I'm so glad it exists.
