review 1: I thought I'd give this author a try because of her reputation for clean regency romance. While the story was a clean romance, it wasn't anything great. If I had to choose one word to describe the book it would be "fine". It was fine for a quick read but not good. Certainly not something I would read again and not something I would recommend to others. It had no wit, a very basic, predictable plot, and the romance didn't invoke any emotion in the reader.
review 2: (Genre:Christian Regency Romance) I had some time recently on a long family trip to do some reading and I chose to bring along this book. I liked it okay, but I just didn't love it. ... morebility. Here is a brief summary: This is a story of a young lady tainted by scandal who is sent off to live apart from her family in the gatehouse of a distant relative. In desperate need of a way to support herself, she decides to write novels and reaches out to an older brother to act as her agent in selling her books to a publisher, so that she can keep her books and their revenue safe from her damaged reputation. Of course, she attracts the attention of a young naval officer that leases the estate that she is living on, which is a problem since she is keeping so many secrets and worries about what he will think of her when he knows her past. Not a bad story, but one I wanted a little more from. Low 3 stars. less
