review 1: Juliet Marillier is one my favorite fantasy writers and I always have high expectations for her. Shadowfell does not disappoint! Although it doesn't fall among my favorites, it is well-written and the characters are great and likable. And when I say "likable," I mean readers will actually root for them. We've all stumbled upon a story (or perhaps more than one) where we give up trying to care for a character's goals.
review 2: This is a great book with a good story. Neryn is a cool name but for me Flint is more of a dwarf name. Both caracters are strong and well define. The description of the enviorment is so powerful that you almost feel that you are actualy there with Neryn. Altought the Others is concorrent theme of Marilier this one is different and unique... more in very ways. I leke the power of Neryn and the fact that is put very well the consequences of having such power. less
