review 1: Sarah is not excited about her summer. She's going to go to her boring old grandparents' house, when all she really wants is to hang out with Charlotte. When Sarah meets Finn, Charlotte's younger brother, she definitely wants to hang out at Charlotte's house! Sarah's father finally let's her stay at Charlotte's house while he's at work, but that doesn't put an end to Sarah's wants. This is a story about family loyalty, coming of age, and finding yourself.
review 2: I stopped around p160. This book was definitely not for me. I had issues with the writing, it was SO simplistic. The main character wasn't like able, in my opinion. Then there was this whole thing happening between her and a 19yr old. I'm not honestly sure where that was going, but it was weird to me
... more and I'm just immediately turned off from a book when I even feel an inkling like some kind of relationship is possible between a 13yr old and 19yr old. It's very possible that nothing happened between them, and maybe they just are friends BUT to me it read as something that was possible AND I thought it was weird for those ages to even have a friendship that was for sure starting to happen. I picked up this book to begin with because of the promoted psychological issues in the book, but it wasn't really about any of that, or even about what storyline had been the point in the beginning. At over halfway into the book I just don't think it was going to get any better for me. less
