review 1: Set in the 14th century during the plague, I thought this tale of a group of travellers trying to outrun the pestilence was great. It explores the relationship between people thrown together in difficult circumstances with the added hardship of living off the land and avoiding a terrible disease. The issues and fears of that time were dealt with very well. The characters each had a lie they were hiding, which eventually was exposed leaving one of the best to last. Even liked the twist at the end but wasn't surprised by it!
review 2: I don't normally read historical fiction but his book was on sale for kindle and the description sounded like something I should definitely give a read. I was not disappointed. From start to finish I was totally hooked, and one chap
... moreter was never enough. The fast pace, vivid descriptions and intriguing characters meant that there was never a dull moment. The ending seemed a little rushed, and I had already predicted part of the twist, but overall this book was a really good read and I will definitely be reading others by the same author. less
