review 1: I wonder how this book came on my radar...and I'm thinking I should have read the reviews on goodreads before downloading it. I'm only about 1/4 through the book right now and so far have not found a character that I like or can relate to...and thus have to convince myself to pick it up and continue reading. I'll finish it because it is a quick easy read...but here's hoping that it gets a little more enjoyable.ETA: well I finished it but had to force my way through it. There were a couple characters and relationships in the book that ultimately could have been interesting if given more depth and page time by the author (for one, I read the whole book and didn't feel like I knew Skyla or Thomas and really didn't know anything about their relationship). But instead, sh... moree chose to focus primarily on Audrey, the meddlesome, intolerant, completely annoying mother of Thomas. And that character, and the time given to her, completely destroyed any chance of me liking this book. Even for an easy read, I definitely would not recommend this book to anyone I know.

I got this through one of those free Kindle monthly deals (or something like that) and was a little wary going in, but hoped that I would end up enjoying it. I think the best way to sum up my reaction to this book is that I am ambivalent. There's some potential there; I just felt like there was a depth that was sorely lacking and a depth that I realize I'm coming to view as an important quality in books I want to read.

I found this very simple book to have some powerful messages about the depth of human relationships.
