review 1: Hmmm. 3.5 stars. I know this is a novella, but I really didn't feel like it added to the progression of the story of Dex and Perry. I haven't read the book that follows this yet, so maybe more will be explained, but as a stand alone being read "in order" it just struck me as very odd. It was a book that I can say "Well, that was neat ... but what was the point?" I like the characters of Dex and Perry enough to not really contemplate this too much longer though. I think I was going into this novella expecting it to be similar to the one from TAT -- sooo much more back story. This one just seemed to be another weekend. Shrug. Moving on with the next book in the series!
review 2: A very entertaining short story, The Benson shows Perry and Dew in a haunted
... more hotel in Portland, Perry’s home town. In spite of its brevity, the story shows perfectly the dynamics in the couple of ghost hunters. It is not as hazardous as the books, at least Perry‘s life does not seem to be endangered this time (though Dex seems to do his best to get her into risky situations… Getting into the laundry through the air vent? Come on, I do not know who is worse, Dex for proposing it or Perry for accepting). Anyway it is a very relaxing chapter between the stressing Red Fox, and the even more stressing Dead Sky Morning. Highly recommendable. less

Super short and sweet. it's 33 pages and gets right to the ghosts.
